I want to share a heartwarming story that reflects the spirit of our community and the incredible work of our local firefighters.

Recently, one of our off-duty heroes, Firefighter Brady Niemiec from the Deerfield-Bannockburn Fire Protection District, made a remarkable discovery. While exiting his personal vehicle behind the fire station, he heard a whimper that led him to a 9-month-old puppy named Coco. Coco had been missing for days and was found with her leash entangled around piping behind the fire station's air conditioning unit.

In a touching and emotional moment, Firefighter Niemiec reunited Coco with her family. Coco's story not only warms our hearts but also underscores the dedication of our local firefighters. Their commitment to serving the community goes beyond their on-duty hours, as demonstrated by Firefighter Niemiec's actions. It's moments like these that make me proud to be part of this community.

As many of you know, I am running for the Lake County Board in Deerfield because I believe in the strength of our community and the positive impact we can make together. Our local heroes, like Firefighter Niemiec, exemplify the values that make our community special.

I wanted to share this uplifting story with you, not only to celebrate the reunion of Coco with her family but also to express my gratitude for the outstanding work of our firefighters. They are always 'on duty,' ready to go above and beyond for our community.
